It’s the distant future and aliens are terrorizing humans by forcing them to dance through mind control. It’s your job as a reporter to cover the incident while saving everyone you can in a battle for humanity and ratings!
Originally released in 2000 on the Sega Dreamcast, Space Channel 5 was part of the wave of experimental titles Sega was releasing on the Dreamcast at the time. The game plays like a rhythmic version of Simon where you must watch aliens perform dance moves that correspond to specific buttons and then copy not only their moves but also their timing.
In terms of plot, Space Channel 5 doesn’t take itself too seriously. The game adopts a very retro futuristic vibe that, combined with a cameo appearance by the Michael Jackson, makes for a campy game that really stands out.
Since it’s release on the Dreamcast, Space Channel 5 has seen ports to various consoles including the Playstation 2, and Gameboy Advance along with HD ports on modern consoles such as Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Check this game out!
